Expansive mountain vista with layered peaks

Available Experiences

Each expedition is designed around specific ecosystems, seasonal patterns, and learning objectives. These aren't interchangeable packages—they're distinct journeys into different aspects of Canadian wilderness.

All pricing includes equipment, permits, meals, and expert guidance. Group sizes are limited to ensure quality of experience and minimal environmental impact.

Ancient forest with towering cedar trees

Ancient Forest Immersion

4 days / 3 nights

CAD 1,847.50 per person

Vancouver Island holds some of the last remaining old-growth cedar forests in North America. Some of these trees were already centuries old when European contact began. This expedition takes you deep into these groves to understand forest ecology from multiple perspectives.

You'll learn dendrochronology—how to read tree rings to understand climate history. A botanist will explain mycorrhizal networks, the underground fungal systems that connect trees and allow them to share nutrients. You'll camp beside salmon-bearing streams and witness the annual migration that brings ocean nutrients into the forest ecosystem.

What's Included: All camping equipment, meals, park permits, waterproof gear, guided forest ecology sessions, field guides

Physical Level: Moderate. Daily hiking distances of 5-8 kilometers on uneven terrain.

Kayakers on pristine northern lake

Northern Waterways Expedition

6 days / 5 nights

CAD 2,395.00 per person

The lake systems of Yukon Territory have served as transportation corridors for thousands of years. This expedition follows traditional canoe routes through interconnected waterways, teaching both paddling skills and the cultural history embedded in these landscapes.

You'll learn to read water—how to identify current patterns, predict wind behavior on large lakes, and navigate using topographic features. Evenings include sessions on northern ecology, from permafrost dynamics to the adaptation strategies of subarctic wildlife.

This is a more remote experience. You'll be beyond cell service for the entire duration, relying on satellite communication for emergencies only.

What's Included: Canoes, paddles, PFDs, all camping gear, satellite phone, freeze-dried meals, water filtration, route maps, cultural history sessions

Physical Level: Challenging. Daily paddling of 15-25 kilometers, portages up to 2 kilometers.

Alpine meadows beneath mountain peaks

Alpine Ecology Study Trek

5 days / 4 nights

CAD 2,120.75 per person

Above the treeline, life operates under extreme constraints. Short growing seasons, intense UV radiation, temperature swings of thirty degrees between day and night—yet alpine ecosystems sustain remarkable biodiversity. This trek explores how organisms adapt to these conditions.

You'll learn wildlife tracking techniques, following signs of mountain goats, pikas, and marmots. A geologist will explain how glaciers carved these valleys and how ongoing climate change is altering snowpack patterns. You'll camp at high elevation and experience the crystalline clarity of air at 2,400 meters.

What's Included: Mountaineering-grade tents, sleeping bags rated to -10°C, trekking poles, high-altitude cooking systems, all meals, wildlife tracking guides, geological maps

Physical Level: Strenuous. Daily elevation gain/loss of 500-900 meters, hiking on rocky terrain at altitude.

Rocky Pacific coastline with tide pools

Coastal Wilderness Navigation

3 days / 2 nights

CAD 1,562.25 per person

The Pacific coast of British Columbia is a dynamic zone where ocean meets temperate rainforest. Tidal fluctuations create constantly changing landscapes, revealing and concealing entire ecosystems every six hours.

This expedition combines sea kayaking with intertidal ecology. You'll learn to read tide tables and plan routes around current patterns. During low tide, extensive tide pools expose starfish, anemones, and dozens of mollusk species. An Indigenous guide will demonstrate traditional fishing techniques and explain the cultural significance of these coastal resources.

What's Included: Sea kayaks, spray skirts, dry bags, coastal camping equipment, tide tables and charts, all meals, intertidal identification guides

Physical Level: Moderate. Daily paddling of 8-15 kilometers, beach camping, scrambling over rocky shoreline.

Booking Information

Expeditions run from May through September, with specific trips scheduled based on optimal conditions for each ecosystem. Ancient Forest Immersion is best in June when rhododendrons bloom. Northern Waterways works well July through August during stable weather windows. Alpine treks happen August through early September as snowpack recedes. Coastal trips run May through September.

All bookings require a deposit of 40% at time of reservation, with remaining balance due thirty days prior to departure. We maintain a strict cancellation policy to ensure guides are compensated fairly and permits are used responsibly.

Group discounts are available for bookings of four or more participants. Custom private expeditions can be arranged for groups of six to eight with different date requirements or specific learning objectives.
